Emeritus Professor Dr. Khor Geok Lin retired Dean, School of Health Sciences, International Medical University, Malaysia (IMU, 2015) and Professor Emeritus of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), where she was a professor in community nutrition for many years. Professor Khor is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. She has served as a Consultant for the Southeast Asia Nutrition Leadership Program since 2004; is a Scientific Advisor of the International Life Sciences Institute Southeast Asia since 2003, was a member of the FAO/UNU World Food Program Technical Advisory Group from 2004-2014, and a member of the United Nations Systems Standing Committee on Nutrition (SCN), Working Group on Capacity Development/Task Force on Capacity Strengthening in Nutrition in Asia (CASNA) in 2002-2010. For decades Professor Khor has contributed significantly to the development and conduct of food and nutrition policy and programs of the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, which includes the National Nutrition Policy, National Plan for Action on Nutrition (NPANM I to III, 2016-2025), Recommended Nutrient Intake (RNI, 2005), Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents (2013) and Nutrition Research Priorities (2011). Her research and numerous publications are in community and public health nutrition, non-communicable chronic diseases, micronutrients, and nutrition issues with policy and programme implications. Professor Khor is a member of the editorial board of several international journals, and serves as the Chief Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Nutrition, the official publication of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia, of which she is a Founding Member, Trustee and Fellow.
