The PureCircle Stevia Institute officially welcomes Emeritus Professor Dr. Khor Geok Lin from Malaysia to the advisory board. She is the retired Dean of the School of Health Sciences at International Medical University, Malaysia and Professor Emeritus of Universiti Putra Malaysia where she was a professor in community nutrition for many years.

khor-geok-lin-thumbDr. Khor is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and has served as a consultant for the Southeast Asia Nutrition Leadership Program since 2004. She is also currently a scientific advisor of the International Life Sciences Institute Southeast Asia. She was a member of the FAO/UNU World Food Program Technical Advisory group (2004-2014) and a member of the United Nations Systems Standing Committee on Nutrition.

For decades Dr. Khor has contributed significantly to the development and conduct of food and nutrition policy and programs of the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, which includes the National Nutrition Policy, National Plan for Action on Nutrition, Recommended Nutrient Intake, Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents and Nutrition Research Priorities.

Her research and numerous publications are in community and public health nutrition, non-communicable chronic diseases, micronutrients, and nutrition issues with policy and programme implications.

Dr. Khor is also a member of the editorial board of several international journals, and serves as the Chief Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Nutrition, the official publication of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia, of which she is a Founding Member, Trustee and Fellow.
